OLYMPUS 8X40 S (Explorer) Binoculars | Wide Angle | Aspherical Lenses | UV Protection

Olympus 8×40 and 10×50 binoculars are the perfect companion for observing nature, sport, wildlife and birdwatching. A wide field of view makes locating a subject quicker and easier, particularly when panning a wide area or tracking fast-moving subjects, such as birds, animals and action sports. The large objective lens diameter offers bright high-resolution images even in low light. Advanced optical technologies including aspherical lenses plus coated lenses and prisms ensure a high level of optical performance by reducing image distortion and chromatic aberration for sharp images and a clear field of view with superb transmittance. A focusing distance as close as 4m allows you to follow animals almost motionless as they approach. With a durable, high-quality finish resisting any nature conditions and a rubber coated grip ensuring a safe hold these binoculars are well equipped for outdoor use. Maximum comfort, functionality and portability is granted thanks to the slim, simple design and ergonomic controls. All elements have been arranged precisely for a compact size, resulting in a sharp impression and a lightweight body

Lightweight + Ergonomic Design

OLYMPUS 8X40 S (Explorer) Binoculars | Wide Angle | Aspherical Lenses | UV Protection - Huligun.com

A design that lends a high-performance feel, like that of a high-end model, aims to foster a sense of possession, and makes it comfortable for anyone to use. Unnecessary elements have been removed for a minimal size, resulting in an overall sharp impression that produces a sense of high performance and a lightweight form.

Special elastic polymer coating is used to suppress reflections of light for optimal conditions when observing wild animals and birds. A textured design is employed on the grip where fingers rest, improving one’s hold on the binoculars, which, along with the lightweight form, eliminates fatigue when using them for long periods of time. Employing the popular shape of the focus adjustment dial from the high-end models in a larger size makes it easy to accurately focus on objects.

A Porro prism enables a wider space between the left and right objective lenses, delivering the stereoscopic view unique to binoculars. The high optical technology cultivated on interchangeable lenses results in coating used on all lenses and the prism, along with the use of aspherical lenses.

The overall optical system is designed for minimal chromatic aberration and distortion, resulting in sharp, clear images.

FIELD OF VIEW

The field of view is the angle of the viewing field measured in degrees. For each binocular model, the indicated specification reflects the size of the viewing field at a distance of 1000m from the observation point.

EXIT PUPIL

The exit pupil is the diameter of the light visible through the eyepiece. It’s calculated by dividing the objective lens diameter by the magnification factor. An exit pupil of 2mm is adequate for daytime use, while an exit pupil of 5mm to 7mm is appropriate for low light environments. The Explorer Series offers an exit pupil of 5mm.
